Of course, you need to target groups of people that you think will be most interested in your ad whether you choose to use Facebook CPC or Facebook CPM but I tend to like paying for clicks vs impressions. I have, however used both Facebook CPC and CPM and I have had results with both so I would definitely recommend that you try using both and see which one converts better for you. As I stated before, there is no clear cut answer to the question of which is better when talking about Facebook CPC vs CPM. It's best to create a series of ads using different combinations of pictures, text, targeted groups, CPC and CPM and just see which ones do better. The ones that don't perform well can be paused or deleted and the ads that do perform well can be scaled up with a bigger daily buudget and allowed to run longer. There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to marketing, it's all about testing to see which ads perform the best and using those ads for as long as they work. Facebook CPC vs CPM - How to Test Ads As with any type of ad Facebook CPC and CPM ads need to be tweaked and tested. All ads have various moving parts and factors that go into them. There's the actual group of people that you're targeting, the landing or capture page that you send your prospects to, the text of the ad and the picture that you choose. All of these things individually and in tandem can make or break your Facebook CPC or CPM ad. If your ad is not getting any clicks or very little clicks you need to look at the text and the picture, Ask yourself these questions - Is the picture eye catching? Does the picture illustrate what the text says? Make sure that the image that you choose and the text that is written beside it are cohesive. If your Facebook CPC or CPM ad is gerring clicks but no one is putting in their email address and you aren't getting leads then there's something wrong with the landing/capture page you chose. First (and this should be done before your ad goes active), make sure that you have your auto responder set up and do some live testing to ensure that it is working properly. If you know your autoresponder is working then you may need to swap out your landing page. Either your landing page is not cohesive with the ad text that you chose or it;s not a high converting landing page and doesn't make people want to leave their email address in order to get to the next step. Either way, it needs to be tweaked in some way because you're spending money to get those people to that page and it's all for naught if you don't get any leads. The point of creating ads and capturing leads is to build a list so that you have someone to market to on a daily basis. You can not call yourself a network marketer if you don't have people to market to. This is the meat and potatoes of your business so analyze the cracks in your foundation and patch them up before you waste money and get nothing in return. A high performance Facebook CPC or CPM ad will work at every phase so test for a day or two, tweak the parts of your ad that aren't performing and test again. I haven't posted any content lately, I've been dealing with some personal issues. In order to have a successful ad, you will have to know if it has the potential based on the data collected. You do not need to spend a lot to test if the product/targeting has a potential to win. Most people just do not know when to kill the ad, they will let it keep running thinking that it will take a few more days to optimize. The main data you want to look at (Website Conversion/PPE): CPC (link) = This shows how much it will cost per link click. You want this number to be low as possible. Usually, my winning ads have a CPC of $0.10-$0.50 CPC. If you are getting a lot of cheap link clicks but no purchases, this may show that there is something wrong with your product page like price, images, trust, and etc. CPM - This shows how much it will cost to show your ad to 1000 people. You want this to be lower than $5 which show that your ad is showing to more people because facebook found the right audience for cheap CPM. Usually, some of my winning products only cost $0.50-$2.00 CPM. If the CPM is way too high over $10 after 3-4 days to optimize, you may want to kill it and test another. Cost Per Purchase - This show how much it will cost you to spend on your ad to get a purchase. If you are spending way too much per purchase than the product, kill the ad especially if it's a WC. You want to do the math it would be : Selling price - Cost of product - Cost Per Purchase = Total Profit. CTR % (Link) - You want your CTR to be at least 1% - 10% Frequency - Shows how many times the same person viewed your ad. Usually, a frequency below 2 is ok. Impression - This shows how many people your ad has been shown to. If you have a lot of impressions but no clicks, this indicates that your targeting is off. Purchase Pixel - This tracks how many times someone made a purchase after clicking on your ad. Add to Cart Pixel - This tracks how many times someone adds to cart after clicking on your ad. If you are having a lot of add to cart but no purchase, this indicates that there may be something wrong after adding to cart like the price, shipping price, payment method. Facebook ads that get likes and fans and web traffic for the lowest cost. That's what I do and I'm gonna give you all of my best information about everything I know that will help you get likes and fans for a much lower cost using Facebook ads. These are the kind of results I'm talking about. 2,619 likes for a dollar 73. 20 thousand likes at 0.00 dollars per like. 1 cent cost per click campaigns driving 4 thousand Facebook likes with each ad campaign consistently getting low cost clicks. Massive campaigns for under 200 dollars pulling 60, 50, 15 thousand, all kinds of likes at an incredibly low price. Note, these are the only factors that are important. Dollars spent, page likes. 181 dollars spent, 60 thousand likes. That's what kind of results I'm talking about. 1 cent cost per click on huge ad campaigns. 250 thousand page likes you can see was done for only 25 hundred dollars... no. Even less. 840 dollars. The enemy in this case are other advertisers on Facebook. I don't want to fight with other advertisers on Facebook. I want to get all kinds of people to see my ads for damn near free. Subdue the enemy without fighting. I don't have to fight with other advertisers. I don't have the budget to sit there and knock it out with Coca Cola or the biggest companies in the world. I find people that no one else thinks to target: India, Albania, Nepal, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Venezuela. I love you guys. I've shown millions of ads in your countries and you engage with the page. You participate and while most of the advertisers ignore you, I'm out there trying to give you ads that are more interesting. This is how I get these kind of results. These countries have massive populations, 18 million people in this case for what I targeted, and look at the kind of results you get out of it. 60 thousand page likes.
